Lumi Wallet originally supported only Bitcoin and Ethereum. The concept of our wallet has always been centered around the seamless integration of cryptocurrencies, collectibles, and dapps in one all-encompassing ecosystem. But when all the possible integrations on those blockchains were made, we had to recognize its limitations and look for another blockchain to integrate.
A blockchain that could provide at least the same opportunities for developers. One which could support a wide variety of dapps and broaden horizons for the users of our multi-wallet. We found all of this in EOS.
While developers got immersed in the technical details, step-by-step integrating the EOS architecture into our wallet, our media team started to explore the news and community around the blockchain and frankly, became a bit obsessed with it. So much was happening at the same time! So, to get a hold on the current state of affairs, we started a regular digest on EOS in our blog, which then migrated to Cryptodaily.
This spring, while there was no sign yet of the end of the crypto winter, the EOS community reminded us why we came to this industry in the first place: for breakthrough innovation and freedom of creation. While the price continued to rise and fall, our confidence only grew stronger. EOS developers, from Block.one to the smallest startup, just kept on with solving the issues at hand and building their products, while the community continued to confront unjust criticisms and deal with unpleasant, but urgent problems.
That’s why the year 2019 for Lumi Wallet goes down as the year of EOS. We started with enabling basic EOS functionality. Then, when we had EOS accounts integrated in-wallet, we celebrated it with a giveaway of EOS accounts for free and were amazed by the demand and interest in EOS. One of our main goals is to make EOS as accessible as possible to users. EOS has a relatively high threshold for entry.
With the last update, Lumi Wallet finally integrated an EOS exchange. Now users can hold, export, transfer, and exchange the EOS coin in our ecosystem, so we can proudly say that our wallet supports EOS. But EOS is much more than just a cryptocurrency, so there are more steps left to make our product a multi-wallet go-to for EOS users. Nevertheless, we consider it an important milestone.
We are currently in the process of adjusting our system for further extension, the nearest parts of our plan include the integration of EOS tokens and EOS Dapps. Then we’ll add the interface to vote for BP’s. And our roadmap for 2019 does not stop there!
We are excited to witness the first steps of this ecosystem and make our modest contribution, by making EOS more accessible to end users and by engaging with its amazing community.
So, if you have the same vision as us, subscribe to our blog to stay tuned to Lumi Wallet and crypto in general. If you want to get a free EOS account or give one to a friend – follow our twitter. We are still announcing regular account giveaways there. And, of course, try Lumi Wallet on iOS, Android or Web, because we are just getting started!
