An American venture capitalist and a big proponent of blockchain technology, Tim Draper, joins board of directors at MakeSense Labs, creator of a messenger Sense.Chat that runs on EOSIO blockchain infrastructure.
Draper is intimately familiar with the world of cutting edge technology having invested in some of the most talked about tech startups in the world. These include Tesla, Skype, Baidu, Twitch and Hotmail among others.
Draper was also one of the earliest VC investors in Bitcoin. He tends to proudly demonstrate his support of the original cryptocurrency by wearing bitcoin-adorned accessories.
According to this Forbes article, Draper invested $250K in Bitcoin at a price of $6 and then lost all of his crypto assets in the Mt. Gox collapse. But that loss did not discourage him from continuing to pursue his investment interest.
In an official press release Draper made the following comment about his involvement:
The world is becoming decentralized. I am excited to support this amazing application. Sense.Chat improves human connections by allowing private, seamless messaging and payments.”
Founder and CEO of Sense.Chat, Crystal Rose, stated the following:
Sense.Chat is the first messaging system of its kind utilizing blockchain technology for privacy and security. It has the potential for ushering in mass consumer adoption in crypto. As an early supporter of our mission and respected visionary in the space, Draper is an incredible asset for our team’s success.
We view this addition as an extremely positive sign for the blockchain industry overall, and EOSIO blockchain in particular. Draper is a well-respected investor in both: the blockchain and traditional investment circles. He brings about vast expertise and a huge Rolodex of contacts in the tech sector. Draper also serves as a vote of confidence to the EOSIO blockchain techstack at times when the market has seen sideways movement for the last 3-4 months.
