PredIQt Launch FAQ
Do you need an EOS account to participate?
Shares are purchased using EOS, so users will also need to have liquid EOS in their account in order to participate in markets.
When will new markets be added?
New markets will be added as existing markets are resolved. We’ve structured the initial market set to allow for a variety of different users. These markets include crypto price markets, markets on EOS-specifics events like the Voice launch, and other topics like sports and politics.
Our goal is to keep the initial number of markets small to improve user experience by driving liquidity to select markets. As the product grows, we’ll increase the number of markets gradually.
How will markets be resolved?
For more information on market resolution, see our article on PredIQt oracles.
Our initial set of markets is resolved by the PredIQt mulit-sig oracle, an account operated by a distributed set of BPs and EOS ecosystem participants. You can see the account on a block explorer here.
Can users create their own markets?
Users are able to create markets using the open-source PredIQt protocol, but users will not be able to create markets that populate on the official interface just yet. PredIQt is brand new and still in beta, and we want to make sure to roll features out slowly and in stages. Currently our team is curating which markets are shown in order to improve UX and increase liquidity to those markets. In the future, we’ll allow for easy user-generated markets.
