Greetings Uplanders! This month we’re launching some cool new game features to catapult you on your journey through Upland. Keep reading to discover all the awesomeness coming your way…
UPX has landed
Upland’s in-game currency UPX is now available in the Upland store. UPX offers players the freedom to buy, sell and trade properties using a peer-to-peer trustless method of exchange.
Players will need to acquire UPX in order to purchase properties and other items within the game. UPX is implemented as a utility token, derived from the EOSIO token system contract, and is not currently tradable outside of the game. UPX can be purchased in fixed amounts from the Upland store, which is located in the top right corner of the app.
Earn with UPX
Live the digital property mogul dream and collect UPX on each of your Upland properties. UPX earnings can be collected every three hours and will be added to your Upland account.
The amount of UPX you earn on a property is dependant on the initial property value, and your UPX earnings can be boosted by completing Collections.
The Upland Collections group together a limited number of properties in the same area or with similar characteristics. This could be anything from owning three addresses on the same street or collecting multiple museums from across the city, for example.
If you complete an Upland Collection, you will earn a one-time UPX bonus and an earnings boost on all properties within the Collection.
Trade freely on the Marketplace
Upland’s new Marketplace feature allows players to trade digital assets directly with one another. Players can now put their properties up for sale and accept UPX as payment.
Players can also accept other properties as payment with this feature, and swap properties directly with other Uplanders. The handy Marketplace feature also allows players to make offers on other players’ properties, even if they haven’t been listed for sale.
Once you make an offer on a property, your UPX will be placed in escrow until the player accepts or rejects your offer. You can also retract your offer before this stage.
Each Marketplace transaction is subject to a 10% community contribution fee, 5% from the buyer and 5% from the seller. This contribution goes back into the Upland economy to support community functions.
Keep track of all your offers and trades using Upland’s message feature. You will receive a notification when someone buys or makes an offer on your property, or when another player accepts or rejects your offer to buy.
We hope you enjoy these new additions to the game. Let us know what you think by completing the feedback form within the app.
