The first 3 weeks of this new year have been rich in events for Ultra!
The support of our community has been amazing as usual and our social channels and groups have been more active than ever. Our CEOs David and Nicolas answered your hottest questions during an interview with MaxDapp and an AMA organized by CryptoCabital.
In addition, Ultra has been featured on several outlets and, in case you missed them, they are worth the read. Cointelegraph and eGaming Desk have underlined the importance of our partnership with Ubisoft, Bitrates called us the “Libra of Gaming’’ and Eos.io published an exclusive interview of Nicolas Gilot.
Many more exciting things are coming in 2020 and the imminent ones are presented in this Community Update.
We have been extremely busy making headway towards our Limited Partner Beta. As we have expanded the scope of our initial technological offering we have decided to give a bit more breathing room to our developers by extending the schedule and providing more development time for each phase of our roadmap. We are doing this to ensure that we can hit our targets and that each phase of our development is a rock solid foundation for the next feature sets which are built on top of them.
We have partnered with a yet unannounced game development team who gets early access to Ultra technology. This is critical and sensitive as the feedback that we receive from our partners helps give form to the following phases.
The next big milestone is the launch of the UOS Testnet, which will allow for an extended partner beta, bringing on more developers and gaining momentum as we move towards the UOS Mainnet launch, the token swap, and the public release.
The 3 phases, Framework, NFT and Ecosystem, displayed in the timeline are indicative metrics regarding the development layers of the Ultra platform. Here is what they mean.
As the name suggests, this is the foundation of our product. Our framework enables game developers to publish their games, and players to buy and play them. All of the core features needed to have a proper distribution platform depend on this framework.
The NFT phase represents our focus on Blockchain-enabled features, such as reselling games, in-game items tokenization, advanced wallet functionalities and so on. Building our NFT standard is a continuous effort but, by the end of Q3, the essential tools needed to create a fully functional ecosystem will be available to every developer.
Ultra has been designed to be an all-in-one platform built on a blockchain framework, where gamers can interact with their favorite gaming apps, and developers can create and distribute new tools and services. The ecosystem phase will fulfill this vision.
It is a crucial phase for our project, as it will enable third party developers and companies to add functionalities and be fully part of the ecosystem.
Circulating Supply Catch Up.
We have had a number of questions from our community on Ultra’s circulating supply. Indeed, the numbers displayed on crypto aggregators like Coinmarketcap or Coingecko may seem off compared to the original schedule we published (the stated circulating supply there is far smaller than what it should theoretically be).
This discrepancy comes from a combination of token holders and Ultra as a company not claiming their UOS. In the future, you can probably expect a catchup on the numbers once Ultra or the relevant people claim their UOS.
We recommend you to take into consideration our release schedule, as it represents the max theoretical circulating supply, and are the official numbers.
As we explained in the last community update, we will not be able to communicate specific names and pictures of our new recruits, instead we will summarize our progress.
Ultra team has increased by 7 new team members since the last community update. Most of them are related to development: Back end developers, Scrum master, product owner and well known blockchain experts, we can’t wait to tell you more about them!
A reflection of this progress is that Ultra is extending the development office in Paris Tour Montparnasse. We are doubling our capacity by renting a completely new floor. Once we’ve finished the setup, we’ll provide some fresh pictures.
Second closed beta video
As promised, we are now working on the second video of Ultra. It will show the Store Page section as the first part of our series dedicated to the Game Dev Center.
The Store Page is the place where developers customize the meta-data of their games and upload the various pictures that will appear on the Front Store.
The coming weeks are going to be filled with important events that we will attend. They are unique occasions for us to meet in person with developers and investors in both the gaming and crypto industries, and a great opportunity for anyone interested in Ultra to meet our executives.
February 10–13 · D.I.C.E. Summit (Las Vegas)
In February, our CSO, Edward Moalem, and our Sr Director of Developer Relations, Melissa Brown, are going to the D.I.C.E. Summit in Las Vegas. Made for games industry experts, the D.I.C.E. Summit is where we keep in touch with some of our partners and developers of games to be published on our platform.
Feb 28 — March 2 · PAX East (Boston MA)
One of the largest consumer shows in America, PAX East has invited our Sr Director of Developer Relations, Melissa Brown, to speak on a panel. While there, she’ll also be testing games and talking to developers about the platform and how they can be a part of it.
March 16–20 · Game Developers Conference (San Francisco)
GDC has always been the one of the most important conferences of the year for Ultra and this year is no different. Many of our team members have attended over the past years to present the project and strengthen Ultra’s gaming-related network so we can get developers excited, get input on what’s important to them, and negotiate for key content that will make Ultra attractive to players.
March 27–28 · Bitcoin 2020 Conference (San Francisco)
Our community team will attend the second edition of the Bitcoin Conference in San Francisco. If you happen to be around, come meet us! Feel free to contact @Emmanuel_Ultra or @theanthum on Telegram to talk about Ultra, Blockchain and gaming during this event.
March 31 — April 1 · Paris Blockchain Week (Paris)
As our main office is located in Paris, we want to play a significant role by showcasing our highly anticipated approach to Blockchain adoption during this year’s Paris Blockchain Week.
We are in the planning stages now to determine if we should host or otherwise actively participate during the main and side events and will keep you updated about our plans.
As usual, If you want to book a meeting with us and get a live sneak peek of the Ultra platform during the upcoming events, send us an email to email@example.com.
