GameSpot, a video gaming website that provides coverage of news, reviews, trailers, walkthroughs, and guides for video games, has announced a multi-week gaming event. The event will deliver what GameSpot deems to be the biggest summer gaming news, previews, interviews, and more to a global audience, while raising funds for COVID-19 relief efforts.
The event will begin in June and is set to be the premier event for gamers to catch-up with all the happenings of the gaming industry and some exciting announcements. This event is in partnership with some of the biggest gaming industry players such as Google Stadia, Bandai Namco, Sega, and 2K Games, to name a few.
However, what is exciting for us is the inclusion of one of the gaming studios that operates within the EOSIO ecosystem – Mythical Games. As much as they are a gaming studio that develops its own blockchain games, they are also the co-developers of an EOSIO based standard for Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT’s) called dGoods. What’s even more exciting is that Mythical Games’ first game Blankos Block Party is set for launch sometime this year. Are we finally going learn of the actual date of the game release?
As the audience we don’t know exactly what to expect, Mythical Games could announce the release date of their much anticipated game or unveil a new blockchain related product. One thing is for sure though, this will be a good exposure for Mythical Games and blockchain technology. Thus, whatever announcement might stem from this event will be an added bonus, or depending on who you ask it could be the other way around, where the exposure is the bonus.
The event will be streamed live on GameSpots’ YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter platforms as well as on-demand platforms. It’s multi-week schedule is going to be released in the weeks to come. Should we get ahold of it we’ll post the schedule on our Twitter handle and hopefully by then we’ll have more details. In the meantime, this gives us one more thing to be excited about over the next couple of weeks.
What do you think John Linden and team have in store for us? Is he just creating unfounded hype or will they be showing off something really cool? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below or on Twitter.
