It hasn’t taken long for the Greymass team to come out with a mobile version of their Anchor wallet. Having just released the new desktop wallet just over a month ago, this Block Producer candidate has created what is easily one of the most comprehensive wallets in the ecosystem today. Whether using a desktop or mobile device; users can now stay connected to the EOSIO ecosystem with ease – using a single wallet across all platforms.
The mobile version of the Anchor wallet offers more flexibility than its desktop counterpart in a couple of interesting ways. For one, it acts as a trusted and secure utility app that safely and quickly connects you to external applications. Secondly, the mobile app can be a connection between your mobile device and desktop computer by acting as an authenticator for your desktop sessions. This means you can use your mobile app to sign-in to applications (dApps) from a computer that doesn’t have Anchor installed by simply scanning a QR-code on your phone to approve the request. A useful feature for when you need to make a quick, yet safe, one-time interaction on someone else’s computer, which you may not necessarily trust.
Other features for the mobile wallet include:
- Quick import of your account from the desktop version by simply scanning a QR-code.
- Flexible user interface for different types of mobile devices e.g iPhone or iPad.
- Mobile security by storing your keys uniquely to your device, making your account harder to hack into.
The mobile version of the Anchor wallet is now in beta and is available to test out for iOS (Apple device) users, with android support currently in development. Anchor wallet currently supports EOS, FIO, Lynx, Telos, and WAX blockchains on both its desktop and mobile versions. You can test out the wallet here – https://testflight.apple.com/join/huZddLBu (for iOS) or https://github.com/greymass/anchor (for desktop).
