WAX has revealed the first member to join their newly announced WAX Advisory Council. In a gist, the WAX Advisory Council’s purpose is to accelerate the adoption of WAX blockchain technology. To achieve this the Council will incorporate members who come from some of the world’s largest and most well-known gaming and technology companies.
The WAX Advisory Council’s first member is Rich Widmann, who is the Product Counsel at Google. As Google is one of the biggest companies in the world, an integration of some of their services with the WAX blockchain could bring massive worldwide adoption of WAX blockchain technology. Google has a wide range of products from their leading web search engine, translation service, and the Chrome web browser, to their Pixel mobile devices, YouTube, Google Play, and much much more.
Google Play and any of Google’s streaming services are great contenders to be running on the WAX blockchain as they could greatly benefit from blockchain’s attributes by introducing features that fully engage audiences with the ecosystems of these services. For instance, YouTube (streaming service) could reward viewers and content creators with tokens of value via the WAX blockchain.
Late last year (November 2019) Google publicly released Stadia, a cloud gaming service. Stadia enables people to play games straight from the cloud (online) without the need to download them, this is achieved by streaming games directly to a user’s device rather than being stored and played on the device. WAX’s Cloud Wallet allows users to interact with the blockchain by simply logging in with their social media accounts, or even a Gmail account, and gain access to blockchain features such as transparency, tokens, ownership of assets.
As many in the WAX and blockchain communities already know, WAX has developed unique and effective solutions for solving problems experienced in the blockchain space including… an effective governance model, a mass-adoption friendly wallet, and more. We look forward to launching the WAX Advisory Council as the next step in the advancement and adoption of blockchain technology.WAX Team
As the Product Counsel at Google, Rich Widmann has advised on several blockchain-based partnerships involving public and permissioned (private) blockchain protocols. Now being a member of the WAX Advisory Council he’s somewhat obligated to see to it that, for one, WAX achieves mass adoption, and secondly, that WAX and Google can form a direct partnership that elevates both their service offerings.
Not much information was disclosed regarding Rich Widmann’s specific role as a member of the WAX Advisory Council, but making deductions on his current role at Google and prior dealings with the blockchain industry – it seems he’ll be a great asset to the WAX ecosystem.
