Just when you think the WAX Advisory Council‘s lineup can’t get any more impressive, they go on and turn things up a notch. In a recent announcement, it has been revealed that William Shatner is the fourth member of the WAX Advisory Council. Most people know him from the iconic Star Trek series as Captain James T. Kirk, and more recently, some might also recognize him from the tv series $#*! My Dad Says where he plays the role of Dr. Edison Milford Goodson III.
William Shatner’s lengthy career, dating back to 1954, has seen him amass millions of fans all around the world, and more importantly; he’s made invaluable memories along his acting journey. As if his biggest role as a character in a science fiction series – set in the future – was foretelling of present events, he’s most prized memories are about to be immortalized on a technology that might actually live on to power the future he acted out over five decades ago.
His induction into the WAX Advisory Council was accompanied by the announcement that his fans will soon have access to his most personal memorabilia, to be cast in digital form. By using WAX’s blockchain technology, each of the memorabilia items will have a digital representation that serves as a rare collector’s item. The authenticity and rarity of each item are easily verifiable on the blockchain, and can’t be counterfeited by anyone.
The collectible digital items will feature a caption written by William himself as well as his signature. In other words, fans will not only have a picture, but also a message and an authentic autograph from their idol.
