EOS = Earth's Operating System

EOS = Earth's Operating System

One of the things which fascinates me the most about EOS is the similarities it seems to share with the natural world. I’m of the belief that nature is full of untapped wisdom, many of the answers we seek in life are literally staring us in the face if we bother to look, or take the time to pay attention.

EOS is an Evolving Blockchain

EOS = Evolving Operating System?

How do you get life and eventually sentient beings on earth? Well the very beginning is still a mystery but the way in which life morphs and grows throughout time is a consequence or enabled by evolution.

In the natural world if organisms don’t evolve quick enough to improve or adapt to new situations they die, it’s as simple as that. I just can’t help but to notice the same phenomenon when comparing EOS to other legacy blockchains. Bitcoin and Ethereum for example are not designed at their core to change or adapt and it is this characteristic which is their greatest flaw.

The only constant in life is change.

EOS on the other hand is the first blockchain with the ability to “easily” reach consensus, we don’t need to wait 2 years for major changes to be implemented. And just like life it does not need to be paused to upgrade, changes can be made on the fly. That in itself is an incredible feat for a blockchain to accomplish in my opinion.

Sister Chains

Another aspect of EOS which reminds me of evolution are sister chains. Dan Larimer designed the EOSIO software with sister chains in mind from the very beginning. EOS allows or even encourages multiple versions of itself to exist which allows us to watch and learn, then make changes accordingly. This is the true power of evolution and the great thing is that we are doing the selecting not nature so we don’t need to wait generations upon generations to see what works and what doesn’t. The more sister chains we spin up the quicker we will learn, the quicker EOS will improve.

EOS - Earth’s Operating System

I believe EOS will become the new version of the internet. A platform on which all applications, governments and businesses run. In such a world with BP’s running the network from all corners of the planet there’s really no other label for it other than Earth’s Operating System.
